ENVISION SOLAR UNVEILS CLEANCHARGE™ ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION DURING GM’S “VOLT UNPLUGGED” U.S. TOUR IN SAN DIEGO

Solar master planner demonstrates electric vehicle charging technology at CCSE event

Envision Solar International, Inc., (OTCBB:EVSI), leading sustainable infrastructure designer and developer, is announcing the unveiling of its new CleanCharge™ solar-powered electric vehicle charging station integrated into EnvisionTrak™ tracking Solar Trees®. This reveal will take place on-site during the General Motors “Volt Unplugged” tour at the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) in San Diego on Wednesday, Oct. 20.

Envision Solar will display its single vehicle CleanCharge charging station at the CCSE headquarters, located in Kearny Mesa at 8690 Balboa Avenue. The charging stations use the power of the sun to recharge the Chevy Volt batteries without relying on fossil fuel-generated electricity. San Diego-based Envision Solar was selected by GM recently to install the innovative single and multiple vehicle solar charging stations at a number of prominent locations to promote the use of renewable energy to power electric vehicles.

“We’re delighted to be joined with General Motors to showcase a truly sustainable approach to automobile use and ownership, and look forward to demonstrating this solution as part of Chevy’s “Volt Unplugged” tour. This is an excellent way for us to kick of our GM deployments,” said Bob Noble, CEO of Envision Solar International, Inc. and Chairman of the Board for CCSE.

The stations’ solar panels are mounted on a “solar tree” above where the vehicle parks and achieve a high efficiency by tracking the sun’s path during the day while providing valuable shading to the parked vehicles. The solar modules used in each SolarTree are provided by MAGE SOLAR, a leading provider of high quality solar panels.

“We’re also thrilled to be able to use the event to announce our relationship with MAGE SOLAR as the provider of solar modules for our Solar Trees, said Desmond Wheatley, Envision Solar's President and COO. “The relationship with General Motors is key as we continue to move into the electric vehicle market, and therefore need to ensure that every component we use is of the highest quality. MAGE SOLAR’s modules offer a best-in-class warranty and allowable tolerances of up to +5 watts, which lower the total cost of ownership for both Envision Solar and our customers. We couldn’t ask for a better partner for this implementation.”
