DALEKOVOD has yesterday signed a project financing contract with SOCIETE GENERAL SPLITSKA BANKA for the wind farm project of total investment EUR 16.241.839,00, in which project DALEKOVOD participates as investor and contractor for electrical works, the value of which electrical works for this project is EUR 1.050.000,00. Wind farm shall include 4 SIEMENS wind turbines, 2.3 MW each. Total installed power shall be 9.2 MW and the expected production is on average 26.000.000 kWh per year.
This is the first realized project of many DALEKOVOD’s renewable energy projects in preparation phase. DALEKOVOD plans to have at least two more wind farm projects in this year, ready for financing. Renewable energy sources, including wind farms, represent special interest of the Republic of Croatia, determined by the Law, and also represent an important condition for European Union accession, as EU gives great attention to renewable energy sources. Croatian electric energy market is completely liberalized with concurrent great import dependence. New capacities in wind farms are the only possible new energy source that can, within reasonable time period, help import reduction for electricity supply for Croatian customers, with enabling of domestic undertakings for competition in strategic sector of electric energy supply to Croatian customers and diversification of portfolio of activities of undertakings in energy sector. Until now, there are four wind farms constructed in Croatia, in which foreign investors participate.
DALEKOVOD wind farm project is by now the first project by domestic investor, financed by domestic bank, where contractors for works are domestic companies and where wind turbines are purchased from SIEMENS Croatia. For construction of a wind farm, which would reliably produce energy and accomplish economic expectations of the investors, many conditions have to be fulfilled, including, finding of the available location with the appropriate wind, choice of the appropriate equipment, electrical grid connection, conclusion of the long term power purchase agreement, securing of the acceptable financing conditions for construction.
Considering DALEKOVOD experience and possibilities, it can offer realization of renewable energy sources - wind farms on turn key principle, including location finding, installation of the wind measurement equipment, optimization of wind turbines placement, wind farm equipment choice, feasibility study, design and administrative procedure handling for building permit, contracting equipment and works, preparation of required documentation for project financing, construction and management, which would be the first undertaking and service of this kind in Croatian market.
