Research and Markets: Super Smart Grids: The Future of Renewable Energy DistributionDUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/16d904/super_smart_grids) has announced the addition of GlobalData's new report "Super Smart Grids: The Future of Renewable Energy Distribution" to their offering. The idea of a wholly renewable electricity supply, using grid systems that span entire continents, is gaining ground. There are proposals for wide area grids with national or continental interconnected networks relying on high capacity electric power transmission lines linking all the local electrical networks that have been upgraded to smart grids, including those for a Unified Smart Grid in the US. Europe's analogous project is referred to as the Super Smart Grid or European Super Grid. The European "Super Smart Grid" aims to utilize the enormous potential for solar and wind power in the deserts of Africa and transport the generated energy to load centers in Europe using High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) powerlines.
