U.S. Coast Guard and BOEMRE Leaders Also Added to Keynote Lineup

CLEAN GULF 2010

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CLEAN GULF, the largest oil spill training event and exhibition in North America, announced today three new keynote speakers. Michael J. Utsler, COO, BP Gulf Coast Restoration Organization; Rear Admiral Mary E. Landry, US Coast Guard, and Walter D. Cruickshank, Ph.D., Deputy Director, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE), will deliver keynote presentations on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at 8:00 – 9:00am. The 20th Annual CLEAN GULF is scheduled for October 19 – 20 at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida.

“We are thrilled to be adding these highly respected leaders to our world class conference program,” said Laura Couvillon, CLEAN GULF Show Director. “This timely, relevant keynote along with the other top caliber sessions specifically designed for the oil and gas industry will offer can’t-miss ideas, information and insights on oil spill response for operators, responders and regulators in the Gulf Coast and across North America.”

Michael J. Utsler has worked in the upstream oil and gas industry for 30 years and in August 2010 was named BP’s lead representative in the Unified Area Command in New Orleans. Since April, he has served as Incident Commander for BP’s spill response efforts in Louisiana, including offshore and onshore oil recovery and cleanup activities. He has been an integral part of BP’s response to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Mike also serves as Chief Operating Officer for BP’s Gulf Coast Restoration Organization, the organization that will manage BP’s and restoration activities from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Rear Admiral Mary E. Landry serves as the Commander of the Eighth Coast Guard District, headquartered in New Orleans. As District Commander, Rear Admiral Landry is responsible for U.S. Coast Guard operations covering 26 states, more than 1,200 miles of coastline and 10,300 miles of inland waterways from Florida to Mexico and including the entire navigable lengths of the Mississippi, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, and Tennessee River systems.

Walter D. Cruickshank is the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE, previously the Minerals Management Service) since 2002. He assists the BOE Director in the administration of programs that ensure the effective management of energy and mineral resources located on the nation’s outer continental shelf, including the environmentally safe exploration, development, and production of oil, natural gas, and renewable energy, and the collection and distribution of revenues for minerals developed on federal and American Indian lands.
